Our story

We didn't set out to create a learning studio. We set out to pause childhood.

To create a place where children could linger in the moments that matter most. Over the summer, as children explored, created, moved, laughed, read together and encouraged one another, we began to notice a pattern. The moments that lit them up weren't the big milestones — they were the little ones.

One more story One more question One more creation One more laugh One more deep breath One more friend helped

Those joyful moments became the In Joy Learning Studio — a place where childhood is protected, curiosity is celebrated, and every child is encouraged to grow with confidence, kindness and joy.

Every joyful journey begins with a story.

The In Joy Method™

Learning that feels like joy

Reading. Yoga. STEAM. Creative arts. Nature. Mindfulness. On paper, they look like a schedule. To your child, they feel like one long afternoon of being fully seen — curious, capable, and never rushed.

We hold it all together with K.I.D.A.R. — the quiet framework behind every hug, every deep breath, every "you did it."

The rhythm

A day designed for joy

Not a rotation of subjects — a single arc, from arrival to reflection, that carries the same child through the same story.

01
Welcome
Your child arrives, and the first few minutes are just for settling in — a hello, a hug, a moment to feel completely at home before anything begins.
02
Reading circle
Then everyone curls up together for reading circle, the heart of the day — listening, reading aloud, and falling in love with a story as a group.
03
Explore & create
From there, the room comes alive: hands-on STEAM, art, writing and nature-inspired discovery — muddy hands, proud smiles, ideas nobody assigned.
04
Move & mindfulness
By afternoon, mats come out again for yoga and slow breathing, then a quiet walk into the Himalayan salt room — the exhale every child needs and rarely gets.
05
Reflect & celebrate
Finally, the group circles back to say what they're grateful for and what they're proud of — because noticing your own growth is its own kind of joy.

Where the method shows up

Where learning, wellness & wonder come together

Reading together

Children build confidence, vocabulary and comprehension by reading, listening and encouraging one another.

One story can grow an entire community of readers.

Yoga & mindfulness

Movement and mindful breathing help children build focus, confidence, emotional awareness and resilience.

Calm is a skill that can be practiced.

Salt room

A peaceful space where children slow down, breathe deeply and settle into quiet sensory exploration.

Sometimes the greatest gift is simply time to breathe.

Learning by doing

Hands-on experiences inspire creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and joyful discovery.

Curious hands help build curious minds.

Every day, intentionally designed

What your child experiences each day

Your child walks in and reaches for a book before anything else — reading circle is where trust builds first, one page at a time, together. From there the room turns hands-on: a STEAM challenge, a half-finished painting, something built or written that wasn't there an hour ago.

By afternoon, mats come out for yoga and slow breathing, then a walk into the Himalayan salt room, where the whole day finally exhales. The last few minutes are for saying thank you — naming what went well, what felt hard, what they're proud of. Same threads every time: reading, movement, creativity, mindfulness, connection — never six separate classes. Just one afternoon, fully lived.

Questions we answer most

Is this a school? Does it replace kindergarten?

No. The Learning Studio is enrichment, two days a week, alongside whatever else your family chooses — homeschool, part-time preschool, or a year before kindergarten.

What does a day look like?

Eleven to three, built from the same five blocks: welcome, reading circle, explore & create, move & mindfulness, and reflect & celebrate.

How big is the group?

Intentionally small, so connection and individualised support are possible — enrollment simply closes once the studio is full.

What is the In Joy Method?

Our fusion of hands-on STEAM, the K.I.D.A.R. framework, and social-emotional learning — the reason a joyful day turns into a durable skill.

Come and see the room

Before anything else, come stand in the space and meet Ciara. Ten minutes in the studio answers more than any page can.
